MSCI to reclassify Russia from Emerging Markets to Standalone

MOSCOW, Mar 3 (PRIME) -- Index provider MSCI plans to reclassify the MSCI Russia Indexes from the Emerging Markets status to the Standalone Markets status, MSCI said in a statement on Thursday.

The reclassification will be done in one step across all MSCI indexes with a price as of the closure of March 9, 2022. MSCI has already been calculating more than 100 global and regional indexes that exclude Russia, for instance MSCI Emerging Markets ex Russia, MSCI ACWI ex Russia, MSCI EM EMEA ex Russia, and others, the index provider said.
